News & Notes:
I hope to have the Eastern timezone option available by next week as well as a larger font size option. In the meantime, for Eastern timezone just add 1 hour to the Central times. If this font size is too small, you can adjust settings in your browser to see the page with a different or larger font.
Sorry about the late update today-- real life intervened.
Thanks to everyone who sent feedback yesterday (and within the last few days), it is very much appreciated. I've responded to most of you, but still have a few more responses to write. Keep that constructive criticism coming!
Thanks to longtime reader Michael for making a donation via Paypal yesterday!
I couldn't do this without your support, it means a lot to me.

Richard Brooks (of Law & Order, G vs E) guest stars in the "Objects In Space" episode of Firefly (Sci-Fi, 6pm). Written and directed by Joss Whedom. Excellent episode of a very fine show.
"I find River pleasant enough myself, but she does have an oddness to her."

Sci-Fi Channel's Friday night shows return with new episodes tonight after their big fall break.
Members of the team start to become infected while the search goes on in a new episode of Stargate SG-1 (Sci-Fi, 7pm and 10pm). Part 2 of 2. William B. Davis, Tony Todd, and Louis Gossett, Jr. are among the guest stars.
Vanessa's best friend from Chicago comes to stay with the family on a new episode of The Bernie Mac Show (FOX, 7pm).
Dancing With the Stars: Results Show (ABC, 7pm).
Two more reruns from last season of Beauty and the Geek (WB, 7pm, 8pm).
Hal and Lois receive a Big Check for Malcolm and they want to use the money for home improvements on a new Malcolm in the Middle (FOX, 7:30pm). But Dewey overhears their plans . . .
Series premiere (or at least regular timeslot premiere) of In Justice (ABC, 8pm). Maybe you caught the preview episode last Sunday night-- I hope you did, 'cuz it was really good. Tonight's new episode is actually the pilot-- the first episode produced. Kyle MacLachlan plays a rich lawyer who heads up the "National Justice Project" where a team of lawyers and investigators look into cases where "justice was not served." In other words: they try to get people out of prison who they feel were wrongly imprisoned. In tonight's case, a woman tries to convince them to look into her husband's case. Her husband was convicted of robbery and murder 13 years ago and he hasn't seen his son-- who is now a teenager. It's a solid episode, though I think I may have liked the second episode (which aired as a preview on Sunday) a little better, but then pilots are often a little rough around the edges. Jason O'Mara and Daniel Cosgrove ("Bill Lewis" of Guiding Light) also star.
Aidan Quinn stars as an episcopal priest with his share of personal and professional struggles in the series premiere of The Book of Daniel (NBC, 8pm - 10pm). This is a new limited run series. Susanna Thompson (of Once and Again) plays his wife. And the priest actually talks to this dude named Jesus (sounds much like the scenes in Rescue Me, but presumably a little lighter in tone as this is reportedly a dramedy). I haven't had a chance to screen this, but it sounds like it's worth a look.
A teen is a suspect in the murder of a surgeon's wife on a new Close To Home (CBS, 8pm), but (of course) there's more to the case than that. Jennifer Finnigan investigates.
Dr. McKay tries to rescue the others from the Wraith ship on a new episode of Stargate: Atlantis (Sci-Fi, 8pm and 11pm). Part 2 of 2.
At long last, Battlestar Galactica (Sci-Fi, 9pm and midnight) returns with a new episode. When we last left the crew, the Pegasus had shown up with Michelle Forbes (of Homicide, et al) in command and let's just say . . . folks on that ship are a little different than our Galactica crew. In tonight's new episode, the Battlestars team up against a new Cylon target and the power struggle within the fleet continues. This show is lightyears better than the old show with the same name and much better than the original miniseries.
An FBI agent is killed while working undercover as a gang member and it's up to Don and his team to investigate the crime (without giving too much away) on a new episode of Numb3rs (CBS, 9pm).
Season 1 of House begins airing on USA tonight with the very first episode of the show (USA, 10pm). If you missed any or all of season 1 of House, you missed some great stuff and should definitely catch up as House is one of the best shows on network TV. Hugh Laurie stars, with Lisa Edelstein, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Jennifer Morrison, and Jesse Spencer. It just gets better and better.
Amy Sedaris, the Temptations on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).
Rachel Weisz, ANT, Lil' Wayne on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).
Sarah Chalke (of Scrubs), Living Things on Late Night with Conan O'Brien (NBC, 11:37pm).
Tomorrow / Saturday:
I won't be doing any picks for Saturday and possibly not for Sunday. See you Monday (if not sooner)!
