News & Notes:

Two great seasons of great shows hit stores on DVD today: season 2 of Arrested Development and season 1 of Veronica Mars. I haven't seen the sets myself yet (alas), but will review them as soon as I get my hands on them. I just know I loved both those seasons of those shows and I look forward to seeing them on DVD.

There's yet another great TV DVD sale at amazon.com on Warner Brothers titles. Some sets cost as little as $19.99, including season 1 of Everwood, season 1 of The West Wing, season 2 of The West Wing, season 1 of Lois and Clark, season 1 of Nip/Tuck, season 1 of ER, season 2 of ER, season 1 of Without A Trace, and others. Plus there are Gilmore Girls sets for $29.97 and lots of other sets at reduced prices (including Smallville, Wonder Woman, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, and more). Check out the full list. It's not too soon to start buying Christmas presents for folks and I think TV DVDs make great gifts (but then I'm TV Girl). Guiding Light fans take note: many major castmembers (and characters) are leaving soon. I don't consider these spoilers really as people come and go on soaps all the time and word has been out about these departures for quite a while. I know folks kinda like to know sometimes when characters/actors are leaving. I'm saddest about the departure of Jerry ver Dorn who has played Ross Marler for many years. But it's hard to imagine the show without Laura Wright as Cassie. Or without Edmund, even. Or Michelle and Danny and Bill.
